Neurodiversity: Real Women, Real Stories

Thursday, January 29

18h30-20h

Online via Zoom

Join us for a powerful and thought-provoking conversation exploring the relationship between childhood trauma and ADHD.

In this third and final installment of our Neurodiversity: Real Women, Real Stories series, ADHD specialist and psychiatrist Dr. Anne Claret Tournier and AAWE's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Chair and trauma therapist Chloé Chandler will share their professional expertise and lived experiences, guided by Robynne Pendariès, ADHD coach.

Together, they will explore topics such as:

  • Where do trauma and ADHD overlap in presentation or lived experience?

  • Can developmental trauma be mistaken for ADHD in childhood, and can ADHD traits be misinterpreted as trauma responses in adulthood?

  • In what ways might undiagnosed ADHD contribute to traumatic experiences over time?

Rather than seeking definitive answers, this discussion aims to open space for curiosity, highlight differing perspectives, and gently explore where current thinking may evolve. Through storytelling and professional insight, the speakers will reflect on the nuances of diagnosis, the impact of early experiences, and how both trauma and neurodivergence can shape identity and well-being.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A.

Whether you’re neurodivergent, supporting someone who is, or simply interested in the layered nature of neurodiversity, this session invites listening, reflection, and dialogue.

Zoom details will be provided upon registration.
