Poucette (Thumbelina): A Unique String Puppet Show
Wednesday, May 14
@ 2:30PM
Meetup Point: At the
Théâtre de Marionnettes à fils de Montrouge
Join AAWE for an afternoon outing to the Théâtre de Marionnettes à fils de Montrouge for a mise-en-scène of Hans Christian Andersen's famous children's story, Poucette (Thumbelina).
We will meet at the theater at 14h30, and the puppet show will begin at 15h.
One of Andersen's most famous tales, Poucette attributes human emotions and behaviors to animals, subtly reflecting the condition of young girls facing the institution of marriage in the 19th century.
The sets and costumes are directly inspired by Danish rural architecture and traditional folk costumes.
The musical score, composed by Catherine Gaudin-Casadesus, for a string trio and flute, incorporates traditional Nordic themes.
The puppet show will be in French.
This event is open to members and their children or grandchildren.
Tickets cost 12€ (10€ TR) for adults, and 10€ (8€ TR) for children.
They may be purchased directly at the door or online at https://www.billetweb.fr/pro/compagnieblin.
A map of the venue location is available here to consult and download.
