Beyond legal persecution, LGBTQ+ refugees face family rejection, loss of education and jobs, homelessness, and even targeted violence.

 Our Speaker:
Jody McBrien, Professor at the University of South Florida, has

 spent over two decades researching refugee issues across the US, Uganda, Ghana, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, and Greece. She works closely with Safe Place International, an NGO dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ refugees. She will share firsthand insights into the dangers these individuals face—and what is being done to help.
