Guest speaker, Caroline Loussouarn Newman

Please join the Refugee Task Force for an informal discussion with our guest speaker Caroline Loussouarn Newman, who until she moved to the United States a few months ago, served as an associate justice at a French National Asylum court. She has solid experience in international development NGOs having worked in this sector for more than 20 years. Caroline, along with two other legal experts also founded Kids Empowerment after identifying major gaps in the protection of migrant children. We are so lucky to have Caroline as a member of AAWE’s Community-Wide Refugee Task Force.

Please join us to learn more about the rights of migrant children in France, especially as we sometimes find ourselves helping grass roots efforts aiming to assist refugees, including refugee children, without realizing what is at risk. As Kids Empowerment explains, "In response to the policy limitations and lack of legal coherence within host countries compliant with the rights of migrant children, Kids Empowerment aims to realize the full development and potential of children and youth by full compliance with international law and best practices.

More information about Caroline is in this link, and Kids Empowerment is on this link.
