This exhibit showcases the work of renowned British milliner Stephen Jones, highlighting his evolution as a designer since the 1980s. This is the first exhibition in over forty years dedicated solely to hats, treating them as art pieces and exploring Jones's creative process and inspirations, particularly his connection to Parisian culture and haute couture.
Born in 1957 in England, Jones opened his first millinery salon in London in 1980 and quickly became a favorite among celebrities and fashion icons, including Princess Diana and Boy George. His collaborations with prestigious fashion houses like Christian Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier have solidified his status in the fashion industry.
The exhibition features nearly 400 works, including over 170 hats, alongside sketches and photographs that document his artistic journey. Jones is celebrated for transforming hats into significant fashion statements, reflecting his bold creativity and deep ties to French fashion history.
