How to have conflict-free discussions about climate change

Join this interactive workshop to learn to have compassion-first and conflict-free discussions about climate change and sustainability initiatives. This session will include time to practice in role-plays, so that you leave with new skills and the confidence to use them.  This is the 2nd event in a 2-part series: it is highly encouraged and strongly recommended that you watch the video of Part 1 on YouTube prior to joining this session. https://youtu.be/fUhkiddErVY

During this workshop, participants will learn the principles of communicating in ways that bring others towards supporting climate solutions. The principles are based in climate psychology and research about influencing and persuasion, and they help both parties of the conversation feel at ease. These compassion-first conversations help reduce climate anxiety as this model is focused on the well-being of both conversation partners. This workshop is for any person in FAWCO who communicates about the FAWCO target project and climate change. The climate crisis still needs greater support from the general public, so one of the most important keys to scaling up action is communicating in ways that build support and increase engagement.
